The DQ Conference, Norway is the 4th Decision Quality Conference in Europe. This international conference is organized by members of the Society of Decision Professionals (SDP) and the European Decision Professional Network (EDPN). The overall objectives of the conference are: (i) to create awareness about Decision Quality and Decision Science as an interdisciplinary field to improve decision making among professionals, and (ii) to bring Decision Professionals together to meet, learn and explore ways to increase the practices around quality decision making under risks and uncertainties.

During the main conference on 7-8 September 2022, we plan to host a software roadshow where you can learn about market-leading tools within the field of Decision Analysis. In addition, on 5-6 September 2022, we have a special program of short courses to enhance your skills and understanding of quality decision making practices. Please note that these courses are not included in the conference fee listed below.

The conference venue can host up to 150 attendees and will be an in-person event, so please sign up now to reserve your spot.

The conference fee doesn’t include

Workshops that are being held two days prior to the conference, 5-6 September.
Travel to Oslo (see below for more practical information).
Overnight accommodation at the Soria Moria Hotel – see room rates below under Location and venue. After registering for the DQ Conference, you will receive a discount code. This code can be used when you reserve your room at resepsjon@soriamoria.no or contact the hotel. You are obviously free to use any hotel, but since you are surrounded by nature, the options are limited close to the conference hotel (Soria Moria Hotel). You may also choose to stay in Oslo City Center, but please note that the travel time with the subway is around 35 min + 10 min walk from the subway station to the Soria Moria Hotel. A taxi drive from the city center to the conference hotel is around 20 min.

Terms

Cancellation policy

Cancellation by the participants can be done by emailing the organizing committee info@dqnorway.com by 1 July 2022 with a 90% refund of the total amount. After this date, any cancellations are subject to a 50% refund of the total amount until 15 August 2022 unless a substitute participant is offered. After 15 August 2022, there is no refund. Substitution requests may be sent via email at any time up to the week prior to the event week. The total amount refers to the conference fee and any potential workshops the participants have paid for. The Organizer is not responsible for refunds of other expenses, such as but not limited to hotel and travel costs, etc., that the participants may have incurred.
In case of cancellation of the conference by the Organizer, the participant will be refunded 90% of the total amount (conference fee and/or the workshop fee). On 13 July 2022, the Organizer will, depending on the development of the SARS-COV-2 situation, either defer or cancel the event if we see a significant increase in cancellations or if we are in a situation where executing the conference jeopardizes our financial responsibilities, or increase the risk of health and safety of our participants.

Force majeure

Events beyond the control of the Organizer – for example, but not limited to, extreme weather conditions, acts of war, terrorism, transportation shut-down (strikes or accidents), government regulation or advisory including travel warnings, serious illness, epidemics, or pandemics (e.g. SARS-COV-2) that makes it impossible to fulfill the obligations of conducting the conference entitle the Organizer to cancel the event without liability.

Program change

It is sometimes necessary to change the conference program. The conference Organizer will not be liable for any such unavoidable changes.

Strengthen your decision making competency

Workshops and Courses

On 5-6 September we plan to host a special program consisting of various decision making courses. These courses will be held by Decision Professionals with long experience in the field. You will be able to sign up for these courses for a fee. There are 8 workshops being held over the two days, with two parallel workshop sessions. This means you can sign up for a total of four workshops.

Software Roadshow

During the main conference (7-8 September) we plan to host software roadshows where market-leading Decision Analysis tools are demonstrated. These will be interactive sessions where you are able to ask questions and explore how these tools can support quality decision making. The Software Roadshow is included in the conference fee. For conference participants, we have negotiated the following room rates: per person for a single room 1,325 NOK/night, and per person for a twin or double room 825 NOK/night. How do I book a room at Soria Moria?

Please visit the Soria Moria webpage where you can book rooms at our special rate by using the voucher code you received in your registration confirmation email. The Organizer have reserved rooms up to 1 July 2022. After this date will all rooms that are not booked will be handed back to the hotel and sold in the market, so please ensure you book a room close by the conference venue in due time before the conference. The conference venue (Soria Moria) is located (35 min with the subway) away from the city center and hotel accommodations in the area are limited.

How do I get to Soria Moria?

From Oslo Airport, Gardermoen (OSL)

Option 1

By Airport Express Train to:

Oslo Central Station (~20 min) + Taxi to Soria Moria (~30 min)
The National Theater (Nasjonaltheatret) (~25 min) + Taxi to Soria Moria (~25 min)
Skoyen (Skøyen) (~30 min) + Taxi to Soria Moria (~20 min)

The Airport Express train is connected to the Oslo Airport (OSL) and cost around 200 NOK/20 EUR for a single trip. The train ride into Oslo is around 20 min. From there you need to take a Taxi or other means of transportation such as Bus or Subway. Swipe your credit card to pay for tickets or download the Airport Express Train app and pre-pay from there.

Option 2

By Taxi to Soria Moria directly (~50 min). It is possible to book taxi in advance and ask for a fixed price. The fixed price should be <800 NOK/80EUR. Some taxi companies to use:

The taxi stop is located outside the main arrival building at OSL.
